We are very excited to announce the next installment of the Spectres series for contemporary acousmatic and electroacoustic music.
Spectres VII will be focused on the spatialisation and performance of the works
Speaking Spaces 2: Surfaces from Graz (2023)
by Natasha Barrett
Mare Buchlae (2024)
by Ana Dall'Ara-Majek
Agon (1998)
by Horacio Vaggione
as well as performances by
Axel Kolb
Manolo Müller
The works of Natasha Barrett, Ana Dall'Ara-Majek and Horacio Vaggione will be performed by Axel Kolb and Manolo Müller with the explicit permission from the composers.
The concert will take place at ALAG, a former church which has found another use since 2019 and is now a place for a variety of cultural and political events.
Spectres will be the last concert to take place in this repurposed building before it will be transformed once more and will serve as an additional classroom for the school next door.
For Spectres VII we will fill the room with a concert-specific multichannel loudspeaker system with the speakers positioned at different points in the space.
This allows us to work with and react to the specific acoustic architecture of this former church, transforming the building into a site-specific instrument on which the works will be performed.
Projecting the pieces into the room using this instrument reinforces the interplay between the venue's actual acoustic architecture and the works' internal musical sonic space, both unfolding as integral to the musical experience.
Speaking Spaces 2: Surfaces from Graz will be performed from the stereo verison while the original is immersive Ambisonics.
This concert is made possible with the kind technical support by the ICST Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology.
More Details to be announced soon.
